Dale Kurtz “Paint Textures, Use Colors and Emphasize Value”

In this workshop Dale will emphasize the importance of texture to create interesting vegetation (trees, bushes, grasses and distant hillsides) and skies (especially thunderheads) to give painting depth and contrast.  Dale will provide spray bottles and useful techniques to show the student how to create a variety of textures unique to his paintings.  He will perform a variety of exercises to help students understand value and color.

About Dale:

Dale grew up in the Klamath Basin and enjoyed a lot of times outdoors.  Dale began an interest in art during an art evaluation class as a freshman in college…but it was later at age 26 that he took an actual class in how to draw and paint.  He has been painting now for 44 years, but it has been a long slow road in learning this “world of watercolor painting”.
